My Weekend

It's so nice for me to visit my grandmother Mimi.
She lives not far away, and still it's like a little road trip for me to get out of town.

Here is a photo montage of the trip.....

First, wash the car: The Rainbow Bath is so much fun.  You get to stay in your car while all the sudsy magic happens all around you!

We saw the new Woody Allen movie, "Midnight in Paris,"  it was wonderful, and the shots of Paris simply gorgeous.  It inspires drinking champagne.  And that's exactly what we did.  Back to the house and what a surprise, what's this?!  Cheers

ok, so for our last day together, we headed down to Zinc's, a French Bistro, a la the movie we were still gabbing about!  It may be time for me to get my passport out....... :)  This is Mimi

This is my Mom

Thank you ladies, for a wonderful visit!

Of course I still had to drive back and the adventure was not over yet....

Well thank you for joining me on this little piece of my life.  love, Jaime and her favorite blue cap

these are the birdholder mascots.  they asked for a rainbow, so they got one in tile.

shade becomes very helpful in a season of dry sun, our thoughts drift to wetter times.  but we make due and enjoy the kiddie pool, cold watermelon, and beer.  we'll be just fine.

and with the heat, the texas ranger goes for it!  the color is deeply appreciated.

Thursday

Nature's Alarm Clock, aka the morning summoner

There is a rooster that informs me that a new day is here.

He cock-a-doodle-doo's much to the changrin of the sleepy neighborhood block.

As soon as I hear he shrill cry, I realize the day is new.  There is a moment here.

When I was "swamping" on the Grand Canyon, i.e. helping the river rafting guides rig and de-rig the boats, make meals, take care of guests, and row, the team involved in making the morning breakfast always got up the earliest.  We were the quiet ninjas boiling the water for coffee, and when the hot beverage was ready, I blew the conch shell, informing the guests and the rest of the crew that coffee was served.  This reminds me of the rooster, and although he doesn't serve me coffee, his song informs that a new day of possibilities are ahead of me, I just need to get out of bed.

Welcome to a new day, take it, it's yours.  Listen for the seemingly annoying sounds that get your attention and put a momentum behind you :)
